Founded in the Queensland outback in 1920, Qantas has grown to be Australia's largest domestic and international airline, employing over 30,000 people. Qantas is widely regarded as the world's leading long-distance airline and one of the strongest brands in Australia. It has built a reputation for excellence in safety, operational reliability, engineering and maintenance, and customer service.
Qantas embarked on a comprehensive redevelopment of its headquarters in Sydney. The project completely transformed a 1980s office campus into a high quality and collaborative workplace. Changes to the complex included an enclosed ‘internal street’ area linking three of the Qantas buildings and incorporating event space and communal facilities, office spaces encouraging interaction and engagement, and a new front-of-house experience and entry hall.
POMT was engaged by Qantas initially in a strategy capacity working closely with their IT and property teams as well as designers to develop an integrated experience between physical spaces, technology and their virtual platforms.
We then transitioned into a delivery role providing AV, Conferencing & Collaboration, Workspace Management and Media Distribution solutions. In total the campus includes over 180 spaces ranging from:
Since deployment, POMT has continued to provide ongoing support for the solutions, including embedded on-site resources as part of a managed service agreement which is supplemented by event and Studio resources to enable Qantas to maximise the return on their investment.
